Retirements of technical, management and administration and services personnel (PTGAS)

Currently there are three possibilities when it comes to retirement:

1- Ordinary retirement

People affiliated with Social Security and in a registered status (or a situation similar to registered status) can be eligible, with certain age conditions, a minimum contribution period and a triggering event.

2- Early retirement at the worker's discretion

Voluntary early retirement is when the worker decides to end their working life before the legal retirement age. The general requirements are as follows:

• You must be at most 2 years below the legal retirement age (during 2025 and 2026, to be able to retire normally at 65 years of age, you must have contributed for 38 years and 3 months or more)
• You must be registered or be considered registered at the time of application,
• The resulting pension cannot be less than the minimum pension for the ordinary age.
• You must have contributed for a minimum of 35 years.

3- Partial retirement (PTGAS Laboral only)

Partial retirement allows us to reach a maximum of 75% reduction in working hours when the measure is accompanied by the formalization of a relief contract with a younger worker, with an indefinite term, full-time, and a minimum duration of at least two years more than what the worker has left to reach ordinary retirement age.

It must be taken into account when requesting it that, despite having the requirements, it is not granted automatically, since it is linked to the hiring of a full-time relief worker and validation by Management Office.
