Data protection
The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is committed to a policy of protecting the rights and freedoms of individuals with regard to the processing of their personal data. For this reason, the information available to the UAB of students, academic staff, administrative and service staff, graduates, suppliers, customers and other people who interact with the University is treated with the guarantees and in accordance with the requirements of current legislation.

The processing of personal data at the UAB is carried out by virtue of the consent of the interested parties, for the execution of contracts and agreements, for the defence of the vital interests of the affected persons or third parties, for the fulfilment of legal obligations, in the exercise of public powers and powers or for the satisfaction of the legitimate interests of the UAB or third parties.
Personal data is only transferred to third parties when it is legally permitted or when it is legally required.
The forms introduced in the UAB e-Office for the collection of personal data must contain the respective information clauses that comply with the provisions of the data protection regulations. In any case, the UAB only processes the personal data of data subjects that are adequate, relevant and not excessive for the fulfilment of the specific, explicit and legitimate purposes for which they have been obtained. It also guarantees the security of the personal data of the users of the website through the application of different types of technical and organisational security measures.
The UAB has a data protection website awith information on current legislation, the regulatory provisions approved by the competent bodies of the UAB and the procedures and forms for compliance with current provisions and for the exercise of the rights granted to data members.
Access to and browsing through the UAB E-Office does not necessarily imply the collection of visitors' personal data. However, the UAB may install cookies on access devices in accordance with the University's cookie policy. The UAB only uses cookies that allow the person visiting the website to browse in a more fluid and individualised way. The data generated by browsing the UAB website is only processed for strictly technical purposes and by staff linked to the duty of secrecy.
