Description

Processing of the authorization to participate in projects and groups outside the UAB.
The request must be submitted by the interested party. 

REQUEST
To request authorization, fill in the following Application for participaton in external projects and send it to recerca.respon@uab.cat for the signature processing.

RESOLUTION
Your request will be evaluated by the Vice-Rectorate and you will be informed of its resolution.

Initiation requirements

The internal policy of the UAB establishes that:

- The participation of our researchers in external projects as PI/Co-PI is not permitted, except when they have a research affiliation agreement with the external entity.

- The activity of the technical research support staff of our institution is limited to UAB groups and projects; it is not possible to extend it to other entities and/or institutions. This limitation does not stem from their type of affiliation with the UAB, but rather from the nature of the tasks they perform.

- The participation of predoctoral staff in external projects cannot be authorised, since their contract links them specifically to work on a particular UAB project.
The only exception would be if their thesis supervisor and/or the principal investigator of the UAB project to which they are contracted also participates in the same external project and has likewise requested authorisation for their participation. In such a case, the request could indeed be processed.
