General Electoral Board
Article 184 of the UAB Statutes
1. The General Electoral Board must guarantee the proper execution of all the University's electoral processes.
2. It is made up of five members: the secretary general, who is an ex officio member and chairs it, a member of the permanent academic staff, a member of the non-permanent academic staff, a student and a member of the technical, management and administrative and services staff, elected by the Governing Council for a period of three years. Each of the members of the board must have an alternate. The body must be attended by a lawyer from the Legal Office, who participates in meetings with the right to speak and without the right to vote.
Article 10 of the Electoral Regulations
1. It is the responsibility of the General Electoral Board of the University to:
a) Apply electoral rules.
b) Interpret the rules governing electoral processes.
c) Direct and coordinate the actions of the faculty or school electoral committees.
d) Declare the final list of candidates in the elections for Rector and Senate, as well as the final results of the election and the candidates elected.
e) Resolve complaints or challenges on any matter relating to the electoral process or results within a maximum period of ten days, unless a different period is established in the Regulations.
2. The General Electoral Board acts with full powers in electoral processes that have as their object the elections for the members of the Senate and the Rector and is assisted, for the purposes of organising the process, by the faculty or school boards.

New UAB Statutes
On 13 March the Official Gazette of the Government of Catalonia (DOGC) published the new UAB Statutes, that regulate the university's activity and wich came into force on 14 March 2025.
The regulations mentioned in this Electronic Office are currently being revised and updated because of the new statutes.
